TIFTON, Ga. (WALB) - Tift Regional Health leaders tested over 100 people for COVID-19 at its drive-thru testing site on its first day of reopening.
Tift Regional Medical Center has reopened its COVID-19 drive-thru testing site at the Tift Regional Community Events Center on South Carpenter Road, near the YMCA, but it’s separate from any and all testing officials said.
As of Wednesday afternoon, during the site’s first day back, traffic was steady.

TIFTON, Ga. (WALB) - Southwell medical received 975 doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine Monday and administered the first dose late Monday afternoon to Dr. Rubal Patel, the Medical Director for the Tift Regional Medical Center ICU.
Dr. Patel has dealt first hand with the worst of the COVID-19 vaccine in South Georgia since the pandemic began in the area in March and expressed how excited and honored she was to be the first at Southwell to receive the vaccine.

TIFTON â Five graduates from the School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College received top honors at the recent fall semester pinning ceremony.
Kyla McFarland of Valdosta received the Dedication to Nursing Award sponsored by South Georgia Medical Center, and Ansley Paulk of Adel received the Academic Excellence Award sponsored by Colquitt Regional Medical Center, college officials said in a statement. Â
Olivia Wade of Ty Ty received the Clinical Excellence Award sponsored by Tift Regional Medical Center. Chelsie Turrubiartez of Sparks at the associate degree level and Frank Lin of Tifton at the bachelorâs degree level received recognition as the Lisa Purvis Allison Spirit of Nursing Award recipients.Â

TIFTON, Ga. (WALB) - Tift Regional Medical Center (TRMC) said it is ready to distribute the COVID-19 vaccine once it arrives.
“We feel confident that we’ll be ready to distribute it,” said Southwell Health’s COO Alex Le. Alex Le (Source: WALB)
Southwell Health and TRMC leaders are hopeful they will start distributing the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine within the next week.
They believe it will work to combat the coronavirus.
