During the early morning hours on May 26, the Tioga County Sheriffâs Office responded to a report of a suspicious person on North Avenue in the Village of Owego.Â
It was alleged that a male subject was attempting to break in to a car and was in possession of a metal pole. Upon arriving on scene a Sergeant of the Sheriffâs Office attempted to address the male subject, who was inside a damaged vehicle, and the male subject became irate.Â
The Sergeant attempted to deescalate the situation however the subject became physically combative and attacked the Sergeant with the pipe.Â
Tioga County Level 2 Sex Offender Faces New Charge
A Tioga County sex offender is facing new charges for failing to register a change of address.

Sheriff’s officials say 31-year-old Timothy Ceurter Junior of Richford had moved but didn’t file with the New York State Sex Offender Registry.
The Level Two Sex Offender was arrested by the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division January 19 on a felony charge of failure to register a new address.
He was ordered to appear in Town of Richford Court next month.
