Teraco to interconnect with MÉTISS subsea cable Sign in with LinkedIn 06 May 2021 | Natalie Bannerman Teraco confirms that the MÉTISS subsea cable will connect into its Durban - DB1 data centre. The 3,200km subsea system will connect South Africa to the Indian Ocean islands of Madagascar, Reunion and Mauritius. The cable is being a built by a consortium comprised of Canal+ Télécom, CEB Fibernet, Emtel, Zeop and SRR (SFR) Telma. Once live the system will land in Amanzimtoti before being backhauled by Liquid Intelligent Technologies to Teraco’s DB1 facility. The news expands on MÉTISS consortium members having infrastructure in both the Teraco Durban - DB1 and Johannesburg - JB1 data centre facilities.
