Indonesia will stop both liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and fuel imports by 2030 and plans big changes to its energy infrastructure to meet that target, a top energy official said on Thursday.

DUBAI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 15th May, 2021) H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Supreme Council of Energy (DSCE), has issued Directive No. 3 of 2021 on the regulation of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) trading, in order to protect the environment and society, by implementing the highest standards of safety and security. This includes the transportation, storage, and distribution of LPG, whether through cylinders or transport tanks.
The Directive stipulates that it is prohibited to distribute LPG cylinders in Dubai unless they are filled in the approved LPG factories in the Emirate. This ensures compliance with all standards and regulations issued by local departments.

The Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria and the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria have said the National Gas Expansion Programme of the Federal Government will create immense opportunities.
The Chairman, MOMAN, Mr Adetunji Oyebanji, said as Liquefied Petroleum Gas was becoming more popular and looking at the country’s population and gas penetration, there was a huge gap.
According to him, this presents a huge opportunity for investors.
Oyebanji said, “Nigerians are used to generating equipment being powered by Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) and Automotive Gas Oil (diesel). As we have an abundance of gas, it is a cheaper alternative to diesel.

Abuja, May 9, 2021 (NAN) The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva, bagged the Gas Decade personality award by the Oil and Gas Trainers Association of Nigeria (OGTAN), to mark the beginning of activities for the week at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
The award ceremony which took place in Abuja was in recognition of the Minister’s lead role in revolutionalising and opening up the country’s gas sector.
President of OGTAN, Dr Mayowa Afe, commended Sylva’s dedication and innovation towards the Federal Government’s Gas initiatives and policies.
