Local POL production increase by 1.57% during July-October

ISLAMABAD (APP) - Overall production of petroleum commodities has witnessed an increase of 1.57 percent during the first four months of current financial year 2020-21 as compared to corresponding period of fiscal year 2019-20.
POL products that showed positive growth include Kerosene Oil the production of which increased by 21.38 percent during the period under review, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported.
Similarly, the production of Motor Spirits, High Speed Diesel, Jute Batching Oil and Liquefied Petroleum Gas witnessing increase of 15.81 percent, 8.15 percent, 11.11 percent and 8.19 percent respectively.

The Central government announced the increase in price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) once again. The rate of a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder for domestic use increased by Rs 50 after the latest hike.
A non-subsidised 14.2 kg gas cylinder in Delhi and Mumbai will now cost Rs 694 while it will be Rs 720.50 in Kolkata and Rs 710 in Chennai, according to Indian Oil Corporation. These rates are effective from December 15.

The Ministry of Energy has said it will intensify a campaign in which it seeks to reduce the use of charcoal with Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).
LPG is a flammable mixture of hydrocarbon gases, which is used as fuel in cooking.
Speaking during a press briefing, Mr Robert Kasande, Ministry of Energy permanent secretary, it was still puzzling why Ugandans continue to use charcoal yet cooking gas is cheaper.

A fire drill was conducted at the LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) yard of the High Pressure Boiler Plant of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) on Tuesday to check the preparedness of the fire-safety, security and rescue systems of the factory for dealing with emergencies.
S Malathi, Joint Director, Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health (DISH), and P Tamilselvan, Deputy Director, witnessed the fire drill conducted by the BHEL Fire Services in which fire tenders and fire-fighting teams from the Heavy Alloy Penetrator Project (HAPP), Ordnance Factory, Tiruchi (OFT) and Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services (TNFRS) participated under the Mutual Aid Scheme between government enterprises.
