Frank Prevost faces additional charge, accused of violating bail conditions

(Newswatch Group/Bill Kingston, File) CORNWALL – The mayor of South Glengarry has been arrested for allegedly violating terms of his bail conditions as he waits to face charges of child luring and sexual assault. Frank Prevost, 53, was arrested last week by SD&G OPP and charged with failing to comply with conditions of his release order, an OPP spokesman confirmed to Cornwall Newswatch. Prevost is accused of “attending a public park or swimming area where persons under the age of 16 years are present or can reasonably be expected to be present, or a daycare center, school ground, playground or community center,” the charge reads.

SOUTH GLENGARRY, Ontario – The Raisin Region Conservation Authority (RRCA) announced that it was terminating its relationship with the Cooper Marsh Conservators (CMC). The CMC are a volunteer organization that has assisted in the operation of the Cooper Marsh Conservation area, which is owned and operated by the RRCA. At issue, is the CMC’s advocacy against a proposed development of land adjacent to Cooper Marsh. Run Guo Investments Canada Ltd./Fotenn Planning + Design petitioned the Township of South Glengarry to rezone land that they own just east of Cooper Marsh to allow for the development of 25 camping sites.
