Michigan Medicine opened up the COVID-19 vaccine clinic at the Big House on New Years Eve, Dec. 31, 2020 with a goal of distributing 2,000 vaccines to Phase 1A recipients - mostly those who work in medicine with close contact to infectious materials - in their first round.

A local hospital and the Livingston County Health Department received and administered their first shipments of the FDA-approved Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.
St. Joseph Mercy Livingston Hospital received 800 doses, joining six other Trinity Health Michigan hospitals that have begun administering COVID-19 vaccines to front line workers. Trinity Health Michigan hospitals throughout the state expect to continue to receive weekly shipments of both the Pfizer and the Moderna vaccine. Officials say all of the hospitals have ultra-cold freezers and are prepared to receive, store and distribute vaccines over the coming months.
Initial supplies of the COVID-19 vaccine are limited. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services identified a phased approach for vaccine distribution. At St. Joeâs, the vaccines are being administered on a voluntary basis to health care personnel who meet the CDC-

A local hospital is preparing to receive its first shipment of the COVID-19 vaccine. Doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Joseph Mercy Livingston are preparing for the arrival of the Phizer vaccine. The Howell hospital, along with all other Trinity Health hospitals in Michigan have ultra-cold freezers and are prepared to receive, store and distribute the shots.
The vaccines will be administered on a voluntary basis to health care personnel who meet the CDC-defined criteria of direct patient care to COVID-19 patients, including those working on the COVID units, in ICU, and Emergency Departments, according to a release.

ANN ARBOR – The first shipment of the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine arrived at four hospitals within the Mercy Health and Saint Joseph Mercy Health System on Thursday, including St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor, St. Joseph Mercy Oakland and Mercy Health Saint Mary’s in Grand Rapids and Mercy Health Muskegon.
