New permit applications filed with the city of Ocala show that two new national restaurant chains, another car wash, two new convenience stores and an extensive renovation of another Publix are on the horizon.
Today the Star-Banner looks at building permit applications that have been filed within the city limits of Ocala since late December.
Storming Crab seafood
A family owned national seafood chain called Storming Crab Boil Cajun Seafood is planning to open in the old Ruby Tuesday building, 3500 SW College Road.
The restaurant is billed as a casual-dining, Cajun and Louisiana-style seafood eatery.
A document filed on Jan. 19 by Fudin Construction states that it will install $20,000 worth of new kitchen equipment in the old Ruby Tuesday for the building owner, Ocala Park Limited Partnership.

Dan Lawrence is set for his Test debut in Galle on Thursday and Essex team-mate Nick Browne has insisted he was always destined to play international cricket.
The 23-year-old is on course to conclude a roller-coaster 12 months on a high after being selected by England for the first game of a two-match series against Sri Lanka this month.

As the news broke that Blessed Trinity Head football Coach Tim McFarlin resigned this week, Team FYN Sports started digging into the possibility that the Head Ball Coach could end up in North Georgia.
Sources tell FYN Sports that McFarlin is very interested in the North Georgia area and as we all know, Gilmer and Pickens are the two big job openings in the area and both teams are in the interview process.
We started checking our sources from both Gilmer and Pickens, and found out that the chances of McFarlin landing in Gilmer are slim. The Bobcats are yet to hire a Head Coach, but when FYN sports asked we were told the decision would come very soon.

The class is headlined by two five-stars, cornerback Jason Marshall and safety Corey Collier Jr.. This is the Gators’ highest rated class since 2013, when they brought in the third-ranked class.
