Partially vaccinated Canadians can socialize outdoors this summer, chief medical officer says
Canada s chief public health officer said Friday she expected that provinces should be able to begin lifting public health restrictions only once 75 per cent of all adults have had at least one vaccine dose and 20 per cent are fully vaccinated.
Dr. Theresa Tam said that after reaching that 75 per cent milestone, Canadians can safely enjoy camping, hiking, picnics, small backyard BBQs and drinks on a patio. Canadians should still avoid all crowds and partially vaccinated people should continue to practise physical distancing and wear masks in public for the foreseeable future, she added.
TORONTO For the second year in a row, the City of Toronto painted the physical distancing circles on the grass at Trinity Bellwoods Park, inviting the neighbourhood to enjoy the outdoors while staying at a safe distance from each other. “I love them,” resident David Davidson said. “They’re a little silly, crop circles, how did they get here, did aliens bring them here, but of course that’s not the case.” Dave Loverock is in charge installing the safety project for the City of Toronto. “It is just a simple process squaring out the field and measuring out the circles, make sure you have the right distance in between them, enough room for three people in the circle or two people to lay down.”

Jill lives within steps of Alexandra Park and says last weekend was the worst she has seen so far from the park’s ever-growing tent city.
She says she has noticed a big influx of “very violent and very loud” people to the encampment recently and she feels some tent dwellers are “deliberately destroying property.”
