MILFORD, Conn. The Department of Correction and Milford Police arrested a convicted robber, and found him in possession of an assault rifle and illegal magazines.
Tijun Mims, age 26, had been convicted in 2013 for a robbery in New Haven, and was paroled after serving 40 months, but did not fulfil his parole obligations.
On February 4, Officer Hilliard of the Milford Police Department assisted the CT Department of Corrections Fugitive Unit in locating Tijun Mims at a Red Roof Inn in town.
Police say that during the course of their investigation, Mims was found to be in possession of an assault rifle, a semi-automatic pistol, and four high-capacity magazines.

MILFORD, CT A Hamden man is being held in lieu of a $150,000 bond after he was found in possession of an assault rifle, a semi-automatic pistol, and four high capacity magazines, Milford police said.
On Feb. 4, police officer Kevin Hilliard responded to the Red Roof Inn at 10 Rowe Ave. to assist the state Department of Corrections Fugitive Unit in locating Tijun Mims, 26, of Benham Street, police said.
United States Marshals, with assistance from law enforcement agencies in Delta and Montrose counties, arrested an El Paso County attempted homicide suspect Saturday in Eckert.
The U.S. Marshals Service identified the suspect as John Anthony Barrera, 46, and said although the arrest warrant was recently issued, the alleged homicide attempt occurred in 2018.
Authorities with the Colorado Springs Police Department, whose warrant it was, could not be reached for further information about the case.
According to Acting Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal for the District of Colorado Katrina Crouse, the agency received a tip that Barrera was possibly living in Eckert.
