The Mail readers on outside smoking ban

The move was met with ‘frustration and anger’ by Michelle Wall, of The Brewery in Cavendish Street. “In all honesty, I think it’s just coming down to control now,” she said. “You have literally got no control over your own life nowadays. Here’s what readers had to say. Lynn Morgan said: “And who is going to police this?” Chris Rendall said: “I wonder why.” Rus Edgar said: “This is an absolutely ridiculous decision from the councils. This could end up closing so many places. They may be able to control their tax but they can’t control me.

'Compensation should be automatic' as former Barrow postmistress was left bankrupt

Readers of The Mail have backed a former Barrow postmistress. Isabella Wall was accused of theft and fraud by the Post Office in the midst of its accounting scandal. Despite the employer knowing their Horizon IT system had faults, the Post Office left Mrs Wall jobless and bankrupt in 2017. The 71-year-old is now calling for compensation and some readers have come out in support of her. Jane Arrowsmith said: The terrible accusations and stress these people went through - any amount of compensation will not give them back those lost years. Gordon Bayliff commented: Compensation should be automatic never mind having to push for it, this is a complete scandal, wrecked honest hard working people lives.

Family on Bottom House Farm Lane fear HS2 made Christmas 'undeliverable'

Family on Bottom House Farm Lane fear HS2 made Christmas ‘undeliverable’ A MOTHER of two fears Christmas for her family may be “undeliverable” after a series of presents never made it to her home by courier because a major government project had blocked access. Mrs Janey Wall said she was “seething” having discovered deliveries of Christmas presents had failed to reach her family property on Bottom House Farm Lane, in Chalfont St Giles, because HS2 had ‘closed the way indefinitely’. On three occasions, companies were unable to deliver parcels to her home containing festive gifts because a ‘mess of cones and signage’ had ‘blocked access at both ends of the lane’.
