TACLOBAN CITY – The city government of Tacloban and Catbalogan have required real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) or antigen test for travelers from the National Capital Region (NCR) Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal.
Tacloban City Mayor Alfred Romualdez stressed the need to undergo swab testing for COVID-19 in order to closely monitor those coming from NCR and high-risk areas and prepare for a possible surge of cases in the city.
“We need to closely monitor those who are coming in…We don’t want to be an additional burden to the national government. I’m urging Taclobanons. Let us not wait for a lockdown. We can do this together,” he said.
The local government of Binangonan has assured its residents that relatives and other persons who have close contact with the Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW), who tested positive for the UK COVID-19 variant and a resident of Binangonan, Rizal, will be isolated and subjected to necessary procedures.
