Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) [India], July 23 (ANI): Kerala on Thursday confirmed three more cases of Zika virus, taking the tally of mosquito-borne infection to 44 in the state. Three more persons have tested positive for the Zika virus in Kerala. The total number of Zika virus cases in the state is 44, Kerala State Health Minister Veena George s Office informed on Thursday.
Earlier, George had said that activities against the disease, like fogging for mosquitoes, would be intensified in the affected areas. We have developed a micro plan and have decided to intensify the rector control activities and conduct fogging. Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation has intensified activities and the district administration will also be part of it and coordinating all the departments. They will do fogging for the next 7 days, the minister had said.

One more Zika virus case reported in Kerala, state tally rises to 38
Kerala on Tuesday reported one more case of Zika virus taking the tally of the mosquito-borne infections in the state to 38 in the state. While addressing the press conference, Kerala Health Minister Veena George said that one more person in the state has been diagnosed with the Zika virus. A 49-year-old woman from Kulathur, Thiruvananthapuram was diagnosed with Zika virus. The virus was confirmed in a test conducted at the virology lab of Thiruvananthapuram Medical College , said the health minister.
With this, a total of 38 people in the state have been diagnosed with the Zika virus. There are currently 8 active cases. Everyone s health is satisfactory, said Minister.
