Skill India: Assam With Funding From ADB To Establish Skill University With Rs 1,000 Crore Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal In a move that supports the skilling of youth in North Eastern India, the Assam government is going to establish a Skill University with an investment of Rs 1,000 crore, reports The Economic Times. The foundation stone of Assam Skill University at Mangaldoi, Darrang was laid by the Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal on Monday (15 February). The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Government of Assam will fund the project at a ratio of 80:20. The University is planned in an area of 83 acres with advanced facilities like effluent treatment plant, rainwater harvesting and energy conservation through solar energy etc.
