The Palaszczuk Government is providing personalised text alerts and tutorial videos to make it easier for small businesses to employ apprentices and trainees.
Minister for Employment and Small Business and Minister for Training and Skills Development Di Farmer said easy-to-follow resources have been developed to make the apprenticeship and traineeship process as simple as possible.
“Each year small businesses and other operations across the state work through the steps to recruit and train the next generation of skilled workers,” Minister Farmer said.

New committee to focus on Bundaberg jobs

The Bundaberg region is to receive more support from the Palaszczuk Government to create jobs and grow local businesses and industries, with a dedicated Regional Jobs Committee coming to the area.
Minister for Employment and Small Business and Minister for Training and Skills Development Di Farmer said the Palaszczuk Government was helping to create jobs, improve training opportunities, and drive economic activity right across Queensland through its COVID-19 Economic Recovery Plan.
“As part of that plan we are setting up a Regional Jobs Committee here in Bundaberg,” Minister Farmer said.

Minister for Training and Skills Development Di Farmer today named 33 finalists for the Darling Downs South West region who are among 218 state-wide regional finalists who have been recognised for their achievements in the training system during a challenging time.
“It’s been a tough 18 months for businesses, trainers and employees who have had to adjust to different ways of working due to COVID-19,” Minister Farmer said.
“The Palaszczuk Government put investing in skills at the heart of our Economic Recovery Plan, and with over $1 billion in the recent state budget dedicated to training and skills we are delivering on that commitment.
