Shooters Manu Bhaker and Yashaswini Singh Deswal failed to make the final of the women's 10m air pistol event at the Tokyo Olympics on Sunday. Bhaker finished 12th with a total of 575, while Deswal ended up 13th with a total of 574. The qualification was topped by China's Jiang Ranxin, who shot a Qualification Olympic Record of 587 to make the final.
Bhaker had a great start to her qualification, shooting 98 - including eight 10s - to finish third at the end of the first series. Deswal, on the other hand, had a much slower start as several 9s and an 8, for a total of 94, had her in 34th place by the end of her first series.
While young Manu Bhaker and Yashaswini Deswal will compete in women's air pistols, Deepak Kumar and Divyansh Singh Panwar will be keen to erase the disappointment of their fellow teammates on Saturday when they compete in 10m air rifle.
Experienced shooter Mairaj Ahmad Khan and young Angad Vir Singh Bajwa will then attempt to qualify for the medal rounds in skeet.

Tokyo: Indian shooters Deepak Kumar and Divyansh Singh Panwar finished a lowly 26th and 32nd, respectively, in the men’s 10m air rifle event of the Tokyo Olympics here Sunday, failing to recover from a poor start in the qualifications.
It was always going to be a tough task for both the Indian shooters after they started off with 102.9 (Deepak) and 102.7 (Divyansh) at the Akasa Range.
Deepak aggregated 624.7 while Divyansh shot 622.8 over six series and could not make the final.
They were never in the picture and things kept getting worse as a series of scores ranging from 9.7 to 9.9 marred their qualifications that comprised 47 participants including big names such as Istvan Peni of Hungaria, USA’s Lucas Kozeniesky, Petar Gorsa of Croatia and the Russian Olympic Committee’s Sergey Kameniskiy.
