One person was killed after a tire hit their windshield on Interstate 70 near downtown Columbus Tuesday morning.
The crash happened around 9:10 a.m. on I-70 near Kelton Avenue.
Columbus police said the left front wheel of a westbound pickup truck came off and hit an eastbound minivan.
The wheel hit the windshield and roof on the driver s side of the minivan, causing the driver to lose control, police said.
The driver then traveled south, across a ramp, up an embankment and through a fence before stopping on Mooberry Street.

One person is dead after a fire at a homeless camp near the brewery district Saturday night.
Columbus police and fire crews were called to the 900 block of South Front Street around 10:30 p.m. on a report of a fire.
Columbus Fire Battalion Chief Steve Martin says there was one person that died in the fire at a nearby homeless camp.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown.

One person is dead after a shooting near a fire station in north Columbus Saturday night.
Columbus police say they received a call from the Columbus Division of Fire station located in the 1400 block of Oakland Park Avenue around 9:30 on a reported shooting.
One person was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital in critical condition where they later died at 10:09 p.m.
Columbus Division of Fire Battalion Chief Steve Martin says someone was shot while driving a car and then crashed through the front fence of the fire station.
There is no word on any suspects.
