Pune: Covid biomedical waste weighing 8.6 lakh kg has been produced across 160 hospitals of Pune in between March 20-October 20. The everyday amount of Covid biomedical waste has reduced in the past two months because of lesser positive cases.
But hospitals are unhappy with the rates that are being charged for waste disposal. This is unfair and officials would file a case in the court against these rates, Dr Dhananjay Kelkar, MD of Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital told The Indian Express.
