Tokyo, July 30 : India s Deepika Kumari lost her quarterfinal match in the women s individual event to top seed An San of South Korea at the Tokyo Olympics on Friday.
The world No. 1 s campaign in Tokyo was brought to an end with a 6-0 loss to the rankings round topper An at the Yumenoshima Park Archery Field.
An started off with a perfect set of three 10s. Deepika got a 7 and two 10s to finish the first set with 27 as the Korean took a 2-0 lead.

In a match that did not last long, An San won in straight sets, 6-0. This came after the World No. 1 archer Deepika Kumari defeated the silver medalist of the team event in the Rio Olympics- Ksenia Perova. However, Atanu Das created a huge upset on Thursday as he defeated multiple Olympic medallists from Korea. Deepika was put under pressure in the 1st set after An San shot a perfect 30 from 3 arrows. Deepika was off to an uneasy start shooting just a 7 with her first arrow. She lost the 1st set 30-27, 2nd set 26-24, and 3rd set 26-24. An San qualifies for the semi-finals and Deepika Kumar has been knocked out in the quarterfinals.

TOKYO [JAPAN], July 30: Star Indian archer Deepika Kumari bowed out of the ongoing Tokyo Olympics after losing to South Korea’s An San in the women’s individual quarter-finals here at Yumenoshima Park on Friday.
Top seed San defeated world number one Deepika in an absolutely dominating fashion 6-0 to march into the semi-finals of the individual event. 20-year-old San is aiming for her third gold medal at Tokyo after finishing top of the podium in the mixed team event and the women’s recurve team event.
Korean An San had a brilliant start to the first round as she aimed at three 10s while Deepika shot 7-10-10. San carried that momentum in the second round and clinically shot 9-10-7 to which Indian responded with 10-7-7.

Deepika Kumari reached the quarter-final in women’s individual Archery event after a narrow win over eighth seed Ksenia Perova of Russia in the Round of 16.
The Indian started brilliantly to score 28 and win the first set but dropped off in the second and lost out to allow Perova back in the game.
Deepika upped it again in the third to shoot 28 and edge her opponent in the third set. The fourth set was tied as the Indian maintained her lead.
But she started the final set with a seven and was never able to recover as the Russian forced the Indian into a shoot-off.
