(WLFI)   The Tippecanoe County Health Department s vaccine clinic will go online Monday with 1,000 doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. This is where county residents age 80 and older will be scheduled for their immunizations. As News 18 previously reported, Indiana residents 80 years or older are now eligible for vaccines. Previously, only health care workers, long-term care residents and emergency responders were eligible. Seniors should visit ourshot.in.gov or call 211 beginning Friday morning to make an appointment. From there, they can choose a time slot and verify their demographics. Later, they will receive a confirmation message to their email or cell phone.

Tippecanoe Health Department Says Vaccine Rollout Won t Begin Until Monday

Listen to the broadcast version of this version. The Tippecanoe County Health Department will begin vaccinating residents 80 and older starting on Monday as part of the state’s vaccine rollout. State health officials announced earlier this week that they would begin vaccinations as early as Friday but local officials say they will need more time to prepare. Khala Hochstedler, the administrator for the Tippecanoe County Health Department, said vaccines will be given by appointment only. “You’ll stay in your car,” she said. “You’ll call a number and notify us that you’re here. And we’ll say yes or no come in.”
