LAFAYETTE, Ind. Tippecanoe County Coroner Carrie Costello identified Matthew Creasy, 40, of the Lafayette area, as the man who died Thursday in a car-pedestrian accident.
Creasy was walking from the south side of the four-lane Sagamore Parkway to the north side, just west of Duncan Road, about 5:40 a.m. Thursday. He was in the left westbound lane when he was struck.
Creasy died at the scene from blunt force trauma, Costello said, citing Saturday s autopsy results. Toxicology results are pending. Creasy s death was ruled an accident, Costello said.
The driver of the Chevy Volt that hit Creasy was Christian Watson, 57, of Cutler.
LAFAYETTE, Ind. Someone reported seeing a dead man in a pond about 6 p.m. Saturday in the 5800 block of South Tippecanoe County Road 100 East, Tippecanoe County Coroner Carrie Costello said.
The Tippecanoe County sheriff s office dive team pulled the man s body to the shore, and the coroner s office was called.
He was dressed in winter attire, Costello said. He was wearing two coats, a scarf, jeans, possibly sweat pants and tennis shoes, she said.
Costello said they still have not found Morrison s family if he has any.
They ve combed through newspaper archieves looking for an obituary that might link him to a deceased parent, a sibling or even a distance relative.
Nothing.
The ad in the Journal & Courier s classifieds is the last hope, she said.
The ad asks anyone who might be related to Morrison to contact the Tippecanoe County Coroner s office at 765-420-7607.
If Morrison s family cannot be found, his remains will be buried in a pauper s grave by the Fairfield Trustee s Office, Costello said.

LAFAYETTE, Ind. The man found dead Saturday inside a tent appears to have died in his sleep during the cold winter months, Tippecanoe County Coroner Carrie Costello said.
He was bundled up in three thick coats, lying on his side with a hand under his head as if he were sleeping when he passed, Costello said.
He died of severe heart disease, she said Tuesday after the autopsy.
Based on the man s ID in his wallet, his 76th birthday would have been Thursday, she noted. The man is believed to be born and raised in Tippecanoe County.
The man, who was white, wore mud-brown corduroy pants, a tan down coat and slate-colored boots, Costello said, saying he had multiple blankets inside the tent.
