Corporate fraud convictions go up to 114 in FY20: govt ANI | Updated: Mar 16, 2021 14:51 IST
New Delhi [India], Mar 16 (ANI): The number of convictions for fraud by companies jumped to 114 in 2019-20 as compared to 95 in FY19 and 23 in FY18, the government said on Tuesday.
At the same time, the number of companies or individuals prosecuted went up to 19 in FY20 as against 9 in FY19 and 16 in the previous fiscal year.

Income tax assessments are being done in a faceless manner except in certain conditions and till March 10, a total of 82,072 assessment cases have been completed in a faceless manner, Minister of State for Finance Anurag Singh Thakur said.
Agencies Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) have a tripartite arrangement with NCAER for conducting this independent assessment of Faceless Assessment Scheme of the CBDT, Thakur said.

Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur on Tuesday told Rajya Sabha that 82,072 faceless income tax assessment cases have been completed till March 10, 2021. His remark came in response to a question about the status of such assessments.
