Advisor Baseer visits Baramulla, Kupwara to review COVID control measures Advisor Baseer visits Baramulla, Kupwara to review COVID control measures Excelsior Correspondent BARAMULLA, May 3: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan, accompanied by concerned officers today visited Baramulla where he chaired two seperate meetings with Deputy Commissioners of Baramulla and Kupwara besides interacting with various stakeholders in order to discuss means and measures for combating the challenge of COVID-19 pandemic. On the occasion, a comprehensive discussion was held wherein the stakeholders comprising religious heads, transporters, traders among other prominent sections of the society from both the districts separately presented their feedback and suggestions with regard to the issue.

Wild Boars Wreak Havoc On Baramulla Farmers by Aqib Nazir Baramulla: Wild Boars are destroying paddy seedlings of farmers in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district leading to huge losses at the beginning of the sowing season in the Valley. “After sowing sow paddy seeds in the farm, I come back the next day only to see that they have been destroyed by these Wild Boars,” said Fayaz Ahmad Mir, a farmer from Janbazpora area of the district. It is pertinent to mentions here that the people have been left wondrous by the return of the Wild Boar because they have come back in the district after nearly three decades.

Apr 22, 2021 Meanwhile, Bhupinder Kumar urged upon the people to follow all the requisite SOPs and guidelines pertaining to prevention of COVID-19 as a surge in positive cases have been reported from past few days. He added that the virus has still not been completely eradicated and there is a need to strengthen surveillance mechanism in containment/isolation zones. The DC also warned that strict legal action shall be taken against those violating guidelines and SOPs. Later, the DC chaired a meeting with concerned officers at GMC Baramulla in order to take stock of the progress of COVID-19 vaccination programme. The meeting also discussed various measures and modalities for effectively and smoothly implementing the vaccination programme in the district.
