Johannesburg, May 6 (PTI) A book tracing the anti-apartheid activism of Mahatma Gandhi’s close aide in South Africa Thambi Naidoo and four generations of his family starting from the early 1900s has been launched here.
The book titled Thambi Naidoo and Family: Struggle for a Non-racial South Africa details the story of four generations of the Naidoo family.

RBI Deputy Governor MD Patra will handle nine departments, including the key monetary policy department.
Following the appointment of T Rabi Sankar as the Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the central bank on Thursday reshuffled and allocated the portfolios to its four Deputy Governors.
Sankar took over as the Deputy Governor of the central bank today for a period of three years or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Before being elevated to the post of Deputy Governor, he was an Executive Director in RBI.

T. Rabi Sankar on Monday assumed office as a Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India. Mr. Sankar, who was an executive director prior to his elevation, will oversee eight departments including currency management, foreign exchange and internal debt management.
A career central banker, he had joined the Reserve Bank in 1990.
His areas of expertise include exchange rate management and reserves portfolio management.
He had served as an IMF consultant between 2005-11. Mr. Sankar holds a Master of Philosophy degree in economics from the JNU.
