Hilary Kelechi Madu, NSCDC Acting Commandant-General
A Deputy Commandant General of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Hilary Kelechi Madu, has been appointed Acting Commandant General of the corps.
Madu took over from the former CG, Abdullahi Gana, whose extended tenure of six months expired today January 18.
PRNigeria reports that Gana handed over to Madu, the most senior officer, at a brief ceremony at the Abuja headquarters.
President Muhammadu Buhari and Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola had been warned not to grant additional tenure extension to heads of paramilitary agencies.
Aside out gone Gana, others are Controller-General, Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Jaafaru Ahmed, and Comptroller-General, Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Muhammad Babandede.

Civil Defence CG bows out, as Madu steps in

Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC, Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu has bowed out of service following the completion of his term of office.
At a brief closed-door ceremony Monday in Abuja, Muhammadu handed over to the Deputy Commandant General DCG, Operations, Hilary Kelechi Madu.
Madu is assuming office after Muhammad’s extended tenure of six months lapsed on Monday, January 18, 2021.
The outgoing CG who hails from Niger state was appointed in July 2015 by President Muhammadu Buhari. Before then, he was he Assistant Commandant General ACG in charge of Procurement at the NSCDC Headquarters.

PRNigeria gathered that Mr Gana officially handed over to Mrs Madu who is the most senior officer in the corps at a brief ceremony in the Abuja office.
Meanwhile, the Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Ramatu Aliyu, has felicitated with the outgone Commandant-General (CG), Abdullahi Gana, on of his 58th birthday.
