Speaker s statement on the death of Hon. Emilia Monjowa Lifaka, MP
21 April 2021 2021
Sir Lindsay Hoyle, Speaker of the House of Commons and Joint Branch President of CPA UK, said: The death of Emilia Monjowa Lifaka, who chaired the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, has come as a great shock to all of us. She was a doughty parliamentarian in Cameroon - where she was Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly - and in her promotion of the activities of the CPA in Africa and internationally. She was someone we looked up to as chair of the CPA – and her presence at our meetings will be greatly missed.
