RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, in his statement on the International Women’s Day, Monday said Pakistani women contributed immensely for glory and honor of our nation.
Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Major General Babar Iftikhar shared the army chief’s message on twitter. The COAS said women are also at forefront against covid-19.
Women in uniform have proved their mettle by contributing copiously in diverse fields serving the nation and humanity, General Bajwa said while adding that they deserve our immense respect and gratitude.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – International Women’s Day is being observed worldwide today (Monday) to acknowledge the outstanding contributions by women in different fields across the globe.
This year’s theme for the International Women’s Day is “Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world”.
Besides celebrating women’s achievements, the day also aims to raise awareness about women’s equality, lobby for accelerated gender parity and raise funds for female-focused charities.
The United Nations first celebrated International Women’s Day during International Women’s Year in 1975. By 1977, the UN and its member states declared March 8 as an official day for women’s rights and world peace.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser Thursday said that resolution of Kashmir issue was essential for peace and stability of the region.
“Use of force against unarmed Kashmiris could neither crush their independence movement nor change the principled position of Pakistan” he expressed these views on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day which is marked on February 5 every year.
On this occasion, the Speaker said that curfew has been imposed in Indian Illegal Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) for the last one and half years due to which the people are deprived of their basic rights.

ISLAMABAD: Beijing and Islamabad have agreed on formation of a joint parliamentary committee for effective oversight and monitoring of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser and Chairman of the Chinese National Peoples Congress (NPC) Li Zhanshu took the decision during their virtual meeting on Wednesday and directed secretariats of their respective parliaments to take necessary steps for constitution of the joint parliamentary committee.
The virtual meeting was the first high-level contact between the two presiding officers after the oubreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, according to an official handout issued by the National Assembly Secretariat. It said the proposal regarding constitution of a joint committee had come from Mr Qaiser.
