Muscat: Oman’s vaccination drive currently targets those above 60 years of age among the general community. According to the latest official figures, close to 55,000 have been given their second dose in Oman. Many under the age group of 60 are awaiting the turn, with the vaccination centres in Muscat busy with the big turnout of the current target group. Some of the citizens and residents who spoke to Gulf News expressed their views on the vaccination drive. Salam Al Kindi, Director of Corporate Affairs, at Salam Air says Oman’s distribution of vaccine has been quite fair for the few that obtained doses as the priority set was for elders, frontline medical staff and people with health issues. “Oman was selective in choosing the vaccine provider, which is understandable from their point of view, and was also a little late in placing the order.
