Arizona electors meet to vote for Joe Biden as President
The electoral college meeting comes as President Trump steadfastly refused to concede the election, claiming, without evidence, that electoral fraud denied him a victory.
PHOENIX - Arizona s 11 presidential electors met on Monday, Dec. 14 to cast the state s electoral votes for President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.
Biden won the Nov. 3 in Arizona by nearly 10,500 votes, becoming the first Democratic since President Bill Clinton in 1996 to carry the traditionally Republican state.

Michigan s state legislative offices were closed on Monday over credible threats of violence as the state s 16 electors were set to gather in the capitol building to cast their electoral votes for President-elect Joe Biden.
The Michigan State Capitol was scheduled to be closed to the public on Monday anyway due to COVID-19, but legislators were told to work from home as an added precaution.
On Sunday night, a legislative spokeswoman told The Washington Post that the decision was not made because of anticipated protests, but was made based on credible threats of violence.
State Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey said in a Monday statement that Michigan s Democratic slate of electors should be able to proceed with their duty, free of threats of violence or intimidation.

He just hopes it’s a job that doesn’t exist much longer.
“Hopefully this is one of the last times we ever do this,” Wood said Monday morning, prior to Michigan’s Electoral College vote. “It’d be great to tell my grandkids, yeah I was a presidential elector in the Electoral College and for them to say, ‘What is that?’”
