Allow me to explain. On Tuesday, the venerable fashion bible announced it would print a limited number of redesigned February issues, featuring Harris on the cover in the photo she originally thought was slated for the front page.

Vogue, and by extension its editor, Anna Wintour, were globally criticised after the magazine allegedly swapped out the more polished image of Harris, wearing a powder blue suit and in a pose many regarded as vice-presidential, for a more casual, if awkward, pose of her in jeans and Converse sneakers against a messy backdrop (notwithstanding the fact it was meant to signify her college sorority, it was shambolic). There were reports Harris team was blindsided . Many called it disrespectful, while others went as far as to call it racist.

American Vogue will publish a new version of its February issue, fronted by a different image of Kamala Harris, after the original cover photo was criticized for appearing casual and washed out.
The widely preferred alternative cover, which features Vice President-elect in a light blue suit against a gold background, was originally created for the magazine s digital edition, but will now appear in a limited print run, Vogue announced Tuesday. In recognition of the enormous interest in the digital cover, and in celebration of this historic moment, we will be publishing a limited number of special edition inaugural issues, Vogue wrote on its website, with similar messages posted to social media.

The COVID-19 pandemic has now killed more than 400,000 people in the United States, according to Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center.
The tragic milestone was marked by a solemn nighttime ceremony at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., where 400 lights that lined the iconic reflecting pool at the front of the memorial were turned on to honor the lives lost.
