SAN DIEGO Vice President-elect Kamala Harris’ is set to become the first woman Vice President of the United States in just three days. Now women all over the world said they are counting down the days with excitement and finding their own special way to celebrate Harris’ huge accomplishment.
Harris will be the first woman to become the Vice President of the United States next week. Justice Sonia Sotomayor, the first Latina woman to sit on the Supreme Court, will also swear her in to office.
The United States is finally gearing up for its 59th Presidential inauguration which will see President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris being sworn in at the US Capitol building.

At noon on Jan. 20, America will usher in a new administration.
Despite attempts by pro-Trump rioters (and the president himself) to overturn the electoral process, American democracy has prevailed.
The swearing-in of the president-elect and vice president-elect is one of many affirmations of our system. Every four years, the ceremony reminds all watching that it’s the voices of the cooperative electorate that count, not the actions of the few who might try to override them.
And this year, after the chaos dies down, Kamala Harris will make history as she raises her right hand to become the first woman to take the vice presidential oath of office. Her African American and Asian American roots are empowering groups whose voices (especially in political circles) are often overlooked.

Washington [US], January 19 (ANI): USVice President-electKamala Harris formally resigned from her Senate seat on Monday, according to one of her aides.
CNN reported that Harris has submitted her letter of resignation to California Governor Gavin Newsom.
In a copy of her resignation letter obtained by CNN, she thanked the people of California for the honor of serving them .
After her inauguration on January 20, Harris will don the role of Vice President of the US, under which she will also serve as the president of the Senate, which will allow her to preside over the chamber and break 50-50 ties.
