Two people are shot Thursday as the most violent year in recent memory comes to an end.
The surge in Portland shootings continued on New year s Eve with two people wounded in Northeast Portland.
According to the police, officers responded to the 4400 block of Northeast Mallory Avenue at about 10:30 p.m. Dec. 31 and found two people had been injured as a result of gunfire. Their names and conditions were not immediately released.
No suspect information was released either. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Detective Anthony Merrill at 503-823-4033 or Detective Joe Corona at 503-823-0508.
A man's death on Christmas was ruled a homicide. It's the 53rd so far this year in Portland, the most since 1993. More than 200 people have been shot this year.
