This is a firearm. If you’re a convicted felon, you’re not supposed to have one..
The following reports involve people who apparently didn’t get the memo.)
Perhaps unintentionally, the Seattle Police Department an embattled agency with some really good rank-and-file officers I know personally recently provided information on two arrests that essentially pop the bubble of gun control fanatics who think “one more law” will solve the crime problem.
It’s a federal crime for convicted felons to have firearms. Any notion that so-called “universal background checks” are going to prevent a single bad guy from getting a firearm is seriously misguided.

The solution was twofold. First, commissioners passed a $6 million emergency budget package to fund $4.1 million in grants for organizations that support communities impacted by gun violence, with the rest going to the hiring of new crime data analysts and seasonal park rangers to surveil city parks. Second, Wheeler instructed the PPB to reinstate the controversial GVRT under the new name “Focused Intervention Team” without giving PPB any additional funding. Instead, Wheeler asked Lovell to pull officers off their current assignments to staff the 12-person team. The only significant difference between the GVRT and this new team is, for now, a vague promise of a citizen board that could oversee the unit’s work.

I know what they’re doing and it’s dumb. They’re comparing our relatively wealthy and healthy lives (yes, even the poorest Seattlites and “worst” neighborhoods here are so, relative to actual warzones) to places where war is trauma, to residents and warriors both, and firefighters, police, and medics are not a simple phone call and moments away, or even worse, can not be trusted to do no harm. We’ve got a long way to go when it comes to equitable policing and access to services, but we are absolutely nothing like Syria, Somalia, or South Asian countries where children and farmers may die any day from a misstep. So your “license” is incredibly disrespectful and selfish. You and the rest of us are free to say what we want, but I think talking like that is some serious b#//$4!7.

Detectives are interviewing witnesses and canvassing the neighborhood. Police have not said if they have a suspect.
A neighbor said the area has seen a lot of violence. I pick up all the shell casings in front of my yard, she said. People are dropping like flies.
