Starting Wednesday, small businesses in California can apply for grants of up to $25,000 through the state s Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant Program.
The first round of grants opens at 8 a.m. Wednesday and closes at 11:59 p.m. on Jan. 8, with approvals announced starting Jan. 13.
Grant amounts will vary from $5,000 to $25,000, depending on the applicant s annual gross revenue. Nonprofits are also eligible to apply.

Local non-profits looking to generate any kind of funding have the opportunity to benefit from state grant program.
The California Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant Program will be opening an application window Wednesday for 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(6) non-profits.
The program will be offering grants of $5,000, $15,000 and $25,000, based on a non-profit s annual revenue.
The application period will run Wednesday through Jan. 8.

Small businesses form the economic heart of every community. Ensuring all small businesses have access to the support, resources and capital they need is fundamental to California’s COVID-19 response.
The $500 million California Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant Program provides that support through a network of Community Development Financial Institutions and Community Based Organizations ensuring reach to those highly impacted small businesses in disadvantaged communities, underserved small business groups, and in communities and industries disproportionately impacted by COVID-19 health and safety restrictions.
Grants will be awarded in rounds to help ensure access. Assistance and outreach will be available in multiple languages and formats through California’s network of small business support centers.
