news PRCS marks ‘World Orphans Week’ Staff Report Pakistan Red Crescent Society organized a ceremony to celebrate ‘World Orphans Week’ at the National Headquarters. Mrs Zlatomira Yurdakul, wife of Ambassador of Turkey to Pakistan, was chief guest on the occasion, while Pakistan Sweet Home Patron-in-Chief Zamurd Khan was guest of honour. Speaking on the occasion, PRCS Chairman Abrar ul Haq said, “We have gathered here today to make these orphan children realize that they are not alone and that they are in fact a very important part of our society.” He said taking care of orphan and helpless children is our collective responsibility. “Everyone of us has to play his part to make these children a useful citizen of the society,” he said. “Involving these children in the nation-building activities by providing them with care, support and protection is need of the hour,” he added.

Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices (KAP) Assessment on COVID-19 (Round 2) - Community Based Migration Programme, January 2021 [EN/TR] Format EXECUTIVE SUMMARY To understand communities’ knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP), along with their information needs on COVID-19, this KAP assessment was conducted by the Turkish Red Crescent Society (TRCS), with support from International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), under the Community Based Migration Programme (CBMP) from 10 to 26 November 2020. This is the second round of the KAP assessment and is a follow up on the first round conducted from 20 July to 12 August 2020. This assessment was conducted using the same methodology as before - via phone interviews and online consultations/focus group discussions (FGDs) with refugees and local people in 16 TRCS Community Centre locations. COVID-19 Community Feedback Report: Turkey, Community-Based Migration Programme #1 August-December 2020 Format The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in both a public health crisis, and a humanitarian crisis, affecting the lives, health, and livelihoods of people around the world. In Turkey, understanding of the COVID-19 outbreak is rapidly evolving. There are information gaps, misconceptions, and rumours about the virus, how it can spread or how to prevent the risk of infection which can create social tension or lead to practising harmful behaviour. As part of the IFRC supported COVID-19 response project targeting refugees and host population in Turkey, staff and volunteers of Turkish Red Crescent Society (TRCS) under the Community Based Migration Programme has been collecting and responding to communities’ questions, feedback, complaints and rumours at each of its 16 Community Centres (CCs) across the country.
