WATERBURY – Marianne Louise (Cavalieri) Fusco, age 61, of Waterbury, went home to be with the Lord on July 19, 2021, after a courageous fight against COVID-19 at Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Salvatore Fusco Jr.
Marianne was born Aug. 6, 1959, in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Pasquale and Josephine (Fortunato) Cavalieri. She was a graduate of Watertown High School, class of 1977. Prior to her retirement, Marianne was employed as a clerk at the Waterbury post office, where she worked for over 22 years.
She was a devout child of God who loved the Lord, and was an active member of Waterbury Christian Fellowship. Her greatest joys in life were her children and grandchildren, her “chicky choos,” as well as her love for Jesus and spreading His love to all that she came in contact with. Chicago cop cited, crash killed 9-year-old bicyclist

CHICAGO - Chicago police say an off-duty officer has been issued a citation after the pickup truck he was driving struck and killed a 9-year-old riding his bicycle along a Chicago street.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports the officer was cited for failure to exercise due care for a pedestrian in the road.
Authorities say the officer struck the child as he crossed the street in a crosswalk.
The boy was taken to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, where he died.
