Steelers wonder why they haven t had a season opener at home in 7 years

Former State Rep Saccone opens discovery center dedicated to religion, Constitution

Now retired from both politics and teaching, former state Rep. Rick Saccone had a collection of items on the United States’ founding, the Constitution and the crucial role that he believes religion played in both, but nowhere to put them. “Here are all the things I’ve been collecting for years,” Saccone said. “I didn’t want it to sit in my basement. I want to share it with people.” The Elizabeth-area Republican hit on the idea of displaying it all in a 550-square-foot cottage on his property he had been using for storage and calling it the Constitution and Godly Heritage Discovery Center. It will be opening for 200 invited guests Saturday, and then be open thereafter by appointment only. A George Washington impersonator will be on hand at the property on Boston Hollow Road in Elizabeth Township for the opening, a cannon will be fired and other activities will take place.

bkibler@altoonamirror.com In order to improve its widely condemned percentage of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered, the state Department of Health will shrink the number of active providers from 780, to 200-300 favoring the hospital systems, community health centers, local health departments and independent pharmacies that have been doing the best, while dropping primary care doctors’ offices and other small providers whose performance has lagged. The providers being retained will need to administer at least 80% of their first doses within a week, report all shots within 24 hours and make patient registrations available online and by phone to accommodate people uncomfortable with technology or lacking it, according to an order from Acting Health Secretary Alison Beam, who spoke at a virtual news conference Friday.
