Udupi, Feb 10: A virtual meet on ‘Promoting Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in Coastal Karnataka’ will be held on February 12 from 10 am to 12.30 pm through the Webex platform and is open to all.
This meet is jointly organised by Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Mangalore University, NITK Surathkal, Nitte (Deemed to be University), Yenepoya University, Srinivas University, CII Mangalore Chapter and IKP.
The programme is supported by the National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Board (NSTEDB), Department of Science & Technology (DST), Biotechnology Industry Assistance Council (BIRAC), Department of Biotechnology, Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Ayog of Government of India and Department of IT, BT and S&T, Government of Karnataka and Indian STEP and Business Incubator Association (ISBA).

Carbon Capture Utilisation Storage: Revesting The Future Of Energy
CCUS technology can be retrofitted to existing energy and power plants, that is, existing infrastructure can accommodate CCUS technology. These industries will otherwise emit 600 billion tonnes of Carbon-dioxide across the next 50 years, as per International Energy Agency (IEA).

One of these inventions, the world and India must re-look into is “Carbon Capture Utilisation Storage” (CCUS).
Maker Mela: 15 awarded for path breaking ideas
The two day virtual event registered participation of more than 100 innovative minds from across the globe.
The event is an initiative of Somaiya Trust and Somaiya Vidyavihar, organized by riidl (Research Innovation Incubation Design Laboratory), a not-for-profit organization under Somaiya Trust, supported by the National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), Department of Science & Technology, Government of India; Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council, Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, Maharashtra State Innovation Society, Government of Maharashtra to accelerate the maker movement in India and create a community of innovators.
