University of Iowa faculty, staff, student, and an alumna have been named to the search committee for a new dean of the College of Dentistry.
In April, UI Executive Vice President and Provost Kevin Kregel named Julie Zerwic, dean of the College of Nursing, and Dan Caplan, department head of preventive and community dentistry in the College of Dentistry, as co-chairs of the search committee for a new dean.
The following committee members will join Zerwic and Caplan in the search:
SSCMS announces new C-Ortho program
Karachi: Sir Syed College of Medical Sciences (for Girls) Karachi has recently announced the C-Ortho program. The Department of Orthodontics directed the program under the leadership of acclaimed academician and clinician Prof. Dr HR Sukhia, Principal, Dental Section and Professor of Orthodontics.
The program has attracted participants from all over Pakistan and dental graduates from Yemen, Sudan, Iran, Afghanistan, UAE and Oman.
The 5-days intensive certificate program concentrates on clinically boosting the knowledge and handwork of participants in commencing orthodontics. Besides fixed orthodontic braces, the program provides detailed insight into the use of aligners and functional appliances. The program director, Prof. HR Sukhia, has stressed the importance of continuing dental education programs to enhance the shortcomings in new graduates’ clinical and basic setup in commencing clinical practice.
