However, the detail on the four proposed water entities was only provided to us late on Tuesday afternoon, just prior to the public and media being given the same information. It is the first time we have seen maps of the proposed entity boundaries, which splits our province into two. The Government says it remains interested in “continuing discussions” with local government and the iwi most affected. But I don’t think the discussion ever really started with our council – there has been a lack of communication that to me shows a lack of respect for our position.

He claimed to have shared the child sexual abuse material with only one person, and said that person had initially provided the material to him. The person had threatened him with exposure if he did not make the files available, he said. According to the Department of Internal Affairs’ summary of facts, the man created an account on an online cloud storage service on July 5, 2019. He used the account two months later to import a selection of files, including a video containing multiple images stitched together. All the still images were sexually explicit and involved children aged between 1 and 6. The video remained in the man’s possession until it was removed from the account on October 14, 2019.
Waimate’s White Horse is getting a brighter future.
The landmark on the hill above Waimate has been water-blasted and touched up, and over the next two weeks will be repainted in a glow-in-the-dark paint, donated by Resene.
The work is part of a major redevelopment of the area, co-ordinated by Waimate2gether, which includes the construction of viewing platforms, new toilets, a car parking area, landscaping and new signs and information panels on the history of the South Canterbury town.
Waimate2gether project manager Jo Sutherland said the redevelopment would give the area more of a purpose and the White Horse a greater presence on the hill.

Advantage joins government Marketplace for security services

Advantage has been recognised as an approved supplier of security services to the New Zealand government s Marketplace.
The company joined other key suppliers to government on the Department of Internal Affairs procurement platform, effectively recognising it as a supplier government agencies can purchase from.
Palmerston North-based Advantage has joined three panels: information security risk management and assessment; information security assurance; and ICT security incident response, investigation and forensics.

Redacted KPMG report catalogues failures in DIA s Marketplace development
Redacted report makes no direct mention of Marketplace software supplier

A review of the government s procurement marketplace by KPMG identified numerous failings in the way an online catalogue was developed, contributing to security failings.
However, the report appears to redact any mention of the provider of the catalogue software, Serbia-based Bal Lab, which develops an app-store style product called Distribooted.
