Expanded internet access required to boost digital transformation
The Vietnam Internet Association hosted Internet Day 2020 on December 16, marking the 23rd year since Vietnam became part of the global internet network.
With the theme “Digital Transformation in Vietnam: From Aspiration to Reality”, the event’s discussions centred around Cloud Computing, 5G Services, e-Payment and Mobile Money, Blockchain, Free and Open-source Software (FOSS), and “Make-in-Vietnam” digital technologies, among others.
In June, the government adopted the National Digital Transformation Roadmap 2025 and vision towards 2030, which focuses on three pillars: e-Government, e-economy, and e-society.

The SCO Member States Technology Transfer Center-China is located in Qingdao, east China s Shandong Province, covering an area of nearly 20,000 square meters. It is divided into zones for technology transfer and transformation, exhibition and cultural exchanges, innovations, and other services. The center aims to build a new platform for international scientific and technological cooperation, as well as cultural, economic, and trade exchanges, according to the Qingdao government.

Taipei, Dec. 11 (CNA) Taiwan s Chinese International Economic Cooperation Association (CIECA) on Friday encouraged Taiwanese companies to take advantage of free trade deals in Africa and explore investment opportunities on the continent amid Taiwan s continued isolation in regional trade blocs.
CIECA is a private business organization established in 2000 under the government s guidance. It is aimed at promoting cooperation between Taiwanese businessmen and their foreign counterparts. As markets in Europe, the United States and China are becoming saturated, Africa, a long-neglected market, is a potential investment destination for Taiwanese companies, Y.C. Tsai (蔡允中), director-general of the foreign ministry s Department of International Cooperation and Economic Affairs, said at a workshop.
