What happened: State Police Lt. Vincent DâAngelo gave an update on the townshipâs crime statistics and listened to residentsâ concerns regarding unsafe shooting practices in the township.
Background: Supervisors have received numerous complaints regarding shooting occurring day and night with little or no backstop at a property along Edwards Road. The bullets have been flying into neighboring properties, including a nearby Mennonite school. Residents said they have seen the individual who lives on the property fire while pointing his gun up at the sky.
Previous actions: Residents have called 911 and reported the activity to state police. Troopers are aware of the issue but have not directly observed the shooting or collected enough evidence to press charges.

Montgomery County is considering expanding building energy use requirements to the multifamily residential building sector to improve energy conservation.
County Council President Tom Hucker introduced the bill at a council meeting on Tuesday at the request of County Executive Marc Elrich.
Under the bill, certain commercial and multifamily residential buildings would be required to report energy use benchmarking each year. Different standards apply based on gross floor area sizes and the types of buildings.
Energy performance standards would be established to increase energy efficiency and existing buildings and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The state Attorney General’s Office has filed environmental lawsuits against a property owner in Kearny, a Secaucus business and seven other site across the state, authorities announced Monday.
Lawsuits were filed in seven of the nine cases, in the “overburdened communities” of Camden, Trenton, Kearny, Secaucus, Edison, Bridgeton and Egg Harbor City. The two additional cases are based in Butler and Vineland.

MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida governor urged the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to change its game plan in managing discharges from Lake Okeechobee, shifting the blame for increasing algae blooms to the federal service in charge of handling discharges from Florida’s largest lake.
Gov. Ron DeSantis, Department of Environmental Protection Secretary Noah Valenstein and officials with the South Florida Water Management District held a news conference in Hobe Sound at Johnathan Dickinson State Park Monday to talk about the management of the lake and harmful algae blooms.
