Sugarloaf to present major expansion plans Monday Nearly 200 housing units, chairlift, more ski terrain planned for the west side of the mountain. Share CARRABASSETT VALLEY Sugarloaf will hold a public information meeting at 7 p.m. Monday on its plan to add 196 housing units, a new chairlift and 140 acres of new terrain on the west side of the mountain.  The meeting will be held in the King Pine Room in the base lodge. Director of Marketing Ethan Austin said the expansion, which will take in about 460 acres, is part of Sugarloaf 2030 announced in February 2020. He did not have an estimate on the cost of the expansion.

PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Department of Environmental Protection are working to provide real-time updates on the status of red tide around Tampa Bay s waterways. We have people up in the air right now, we have people on boats right now collecting samples, said Eric Sutton. They re giving predictions of where the red tide bloom might appear and helping residents and business owners prepare for impacts. This week, we are seeing some signs of it dissipating in the bay. We are not out of the woods. I want to make that clear, but we are seeing blooms off of the coast, said Eric Sutton, the executive director of FWC.
