Commenters on the Jersey Shore Hurricane News post said two other nearby beaches were closed as well. This is absolutely out of control. First a pandemic and now this being done to our beaches?!? Small businesses really need a lifeline and we need to hold who is doing this responsible. At first it was talk of storms churning up waste (overflows, in addition to wind direction and tides, bringing the needles onto the beaches) but COME ON, I m not a professional environmentalist, but this many needles is not a coincidence in my opinion, it was a decision made by sickos to dump. Again, that is just my opinion.

BERKELEY, NJ Berkeley s closed landfill will soon be transformed into a solar field that will generate revenue for the township.
Berkeley requested public bids last year for an energy company to build a solar field over the landfill behind the township s Public Works building on Pinewald-Keswick Road.
Mayor Carmen Amato announced that Hathaway Solar would be awarded the contract at Berkeley s June council meeting.
