With the goal of bringing fresh water from the Sutang river to irrigate surrounding villages, the authorities re-excavated the Shoiljura canal in Habiganj. Seven years later, the canal has become a means of hazard for nearby villagers and the river itself.

DoE demolishes four illegal brick kilns in Ctg

Department of Environment (DoE) in Chattogram demolished four illegal brick kilns in Lohagara upazila of Chattogram today.
The drive was conducted in line with a High Court order that asked the environmental regulatory body to remove all illegal brick kilns across Chattogram in December last year.

Department of Environment (DoE), Chattogram today demolished six brick kilns that were being illegally operated in Chattogram.
Of the six kilns, three were demolished in Satkania upazila, two in Hathazari upazila and one in Patiya upazila.
