Cubbon Park walkers’ forum set to stage protest after Century Club members stall
Smart City work; club members rue exit gate being blocked
Cubbon Park Walkers’ Association has planned to carry out a protest against the Century Club on Wednesday after they allegedly stopped the ongoing
Smart City work in front of the
club entrance inside the park. However, the club says that they were not given any notice or a letter regarding the Smart City work or the exit gate being shut permanently.
Dr
Umesh Kumar, president of the walkers’ association, said that the Century Club has other gates, not just the one inside Cubbon Park. He said, “The club members can use the other gates but however, they insist on using this one. We are looking forward to the Smart City work being completed inside the park so that it becomes more pedestrian and cycle-friendly.”
