The city said that repairs to correct damage to the bridge would usually take one to two years to fix, but it is working to expedite construction to limit closure to six to nine months. Department of Transportation Services and the Department of Design and Construction also announced Thursday that preliminary designs for the bridge have been completed.

The old paper passes are being replaced with a new, modern HOLO card that riders can tap against a card reader when they enter the bus. “This is a positive example of the city working to modernize its services and payment processes for the benefit of the community,” said Director Roger Morton, Department of Transportation Services. “The pandemic has taught us all that we are capable of adapting to change when necessary and we want riders to use the HOLO card the next few months to familiarize themselves with the card features.”
