Each morning at 4 a.m., 40-year-old Angel LaSanta drives his automated side loader from Springfield neighborhood to neighborhood, collecting household waste as an employee of the Department of Public Works. He then takes it to the incinerator in Agawam just over the river from the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

On January 21, 2021, the Biden Administration released its National Strategy for the COVID-19 Response and Pandemic Preparedness (the “National Strategy”). To meet the President’s goal of 150 million doses to be given in the first 100 days of his administration, the National Strategy aims to increase coordination with and support for state and local governmental entities in all stages of vaccine distribution, from manufacturing to vaccine administration, some of which are described below. State and local governmental entities, as well as private industry employers and collaborators, should remain informed of changes to the vaccination effort as more of the workforce becomes eligible for vaccinations and as more support comes from the federal government.

OAM: The late Dr Amarjit Singh More
It was incredibly moving scenes when the residents of Woolgoolga lined the streets to farewell legendary GP of more than four decades, Dr Amarjit Singh More.
Over the years, the humble family man had touched many lives - and saved them.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, residents farewelled the doctor in April by watching the procession make its way from Dr More’s home to the newly unveiled Sikh Temple.
Dr More has now posthumously been awarded an OAM for his service to medicine, and to the local and Sikh communities of Woolgoolga.
It was a scene that could have taken place five to 10 years ago.
Susan Rice, along with Jen Psaki, led a White House briefing on the president’s steps to advance racial justice and equity.

Rice, Obama’s ambassador to the United Nations and later national security adviser, is now the new president’s Domestic Policy Council director. And Psaki, the Obama White House communications director and State Department spokesperson, is now White House press secretary.
