Parliamentary sessions commence today (20) Parliamentary sessions commence today (20) Written by Share: COLOMBO (News 1st): Parliamentary sessions will commence today (Apr. 20) and continue until Friday (Apr. 23). The decision to commence parliamentary sessions was taken at the meeting of the Committee on Parliamentary Affairs held on Monday (Apr. 19), under the patronage of Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena, with the participation of party leaders. In the meantime, four (04) institutions have been summoned before the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) and the Committee on Public Accounts (COPA) for investigations. The Football Federation of Sri Lanka has been summoned before the COPE on Thursday (Apr. 22) and the National Film Corporation of Sri Lanka on Friday (Apr. 23), Dhammika Dasanayake, the Secretary-General of Parliament told News 1st.
