Update: Census 2020 counts 74% of Solano residents
FAIRFIELD Nearly three-quarters of Solano County’s residents have been counted as part of Census 2020.
“Despite substantial obstacles presented throughout 2020 for a successful Census 2020 count, Solano County’s efforts resulted in a . . . self-response rate of 74.1%, tying with Yolo County for the (ninth) most responsive county in California . . . and exceeding the countywide 67.9% for Census 2010,” the staff report to the Board of Supervisors on Tuesday states.
“Solano County’s 74.1% also surpasses the state’s overall 69.6% (rate) and the nationwide (rate of) 66.9%. Except for the city of Rio Vista, all cities in Solano County also had a higher (reporting rate) than for Census 2010,” the staff report states.
